We've also stayed at Mangold's and enjoyed ourselves. In fact, we liked this remote area so much that we bought land near Saltese,

It will be at 6060' and overlook
Silver Lake; 4.5 miles into the Lolo National Forest, via Silver Creek Road. Skiing at Lookout Pass and trail riding at The Hiawatha Trail are nearby.
