Buffalo Jump

for six thousand years
Orpheus bangs the strings,
blood coagulates,
brain tissue softens and splinters,
the world cultural heritage
emanates sweet odours,
hysterics cluster at the altars

and

the heads of buffaloes
are still smashed in.
