thanks for the comments on my blog.
this shot is really cool - its like there is a subtle light source coming from the left of the tree. gives it a nice glow. the fact that the left side is in the shadow of the sun yet still has this glow makes it awesome. good stuff.

Thanks! I think the light illusion is just because the snow is so much brighter than the tree, so that side looks brighter. For the half hour or so in which the sun came out, everything was beautiful there, and I would have taken more pictures had my fingers not started to freeze every time I took my outer gloves off....
